June set another record for Brazilian pork exports

In June of this year, Brazil reported another record EXPORT of pork, which exceeded the mark of 1 million tons. June ended with $270.2 million in revenue, an unprecedented fact in the monthly segment review. CHINA remains the top export destination, ahead of Chile, Vietnam, the Philippines and Argentina, according to the Brazilian Livestock Association (ABPA).

“The return of economic activity in various regions of the world has had a positive impact on the industry's exports. Lower supply in competing countries such as the US has led Brazil to increase its participation in the global pork trade and is forecast to be in the spotlight throughout 2021,” said Luis Roy, DIRECTOR of the ABPA market. .

Figures for the first half of the year show that Brazil could achieve another record for pork exports by the end of 2021. In the first six months of the year, the South American producer shipped 562,700 tons of pork (+17.39%) worth $1.349 billion, up 25.4% from 2020. These are impressive numbers that demonstrate the viability of the Brazilian pig sector even in the midst of a pandemic.

And this fact will be taken into account when preparing the monthly analytical report Meatinfo.ru

“The Asian market and some South American countries have maintained a positive demand for Brazilian exports, maintaining the growth forecast for overseas sales for this year. The good results helped reduce the impact of historically high production costs and marked years of prosperity for our pig industry,” concluded ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
