Ingush livestock breeders are increasing the number of cattle, sheep and goats

We have never had a shortage of skeptics when it came to, for example, the development of the agro-industrial complex, in particular, animal husbandry. It's good that there were always enough enthusiasts, on whom progress rests. The fact that this year, as in the past, in Ingushetia, during various charity events, livestock is not imported from outside, and more than 100 peasant farms will sell local products at fairs for Ad al-Adha (GIurba), a clear evidence that we can , if taken.

The republican authorities intend to use favorable natural conditions, and one of the promising areas is the development of animal husbandry. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the number of farm animals and the production of the main types of livestock products (MEAT, MILK, honey, eggs, etc.). The products of Ingush farms are in high demand in the domestic and international markets. Since the beginning of the year, several thousand heads of sheep, goats and cattle have been purchased in Ingushetia.

Last year, in accordance with the instructions of the HEAD of the Republic, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, state-owned enterprises purchased five thousand sheep of the Tushino breed for meat production and 320 heads of young cattle for fattening. The purchase was made at the expense of the profits of these SUEs. In total, by the beginning of 2021, in Ingushetia, in all categories of farms, there are 68.3 thousand heads of cattle and 283 thousand heads of sheep and goats.

In 2021, about three thousand sheep and 160 cattle were purchased in the republic; By the end of this year, the number of sheep will be brought to ten thousand heads, and the number of cattle - up to 600 heads, the Ministry of Agriculture of the region noted. Livestock growth is a good chance for novice farmers to become profitable. For the Eid al-Adha holiday this year, 1,100 and 400 heads of small cattle, respectively, were selected from state-owned peasant farm enterprises for distribution to low-income families.

Ingushetia is predominantly an agrarian republic. Animal husbandry accounts for 70% of the total agricultural output. Now, according to the Republican Ministry of Agriculture, there are about 2,100 peasant farms in the republic. Due to favorable natural and climatic conditions, the presence of pastures, meat and meat and dairy cattle breeding, sheep breeding, and goat breeding are developing in the mountainous Ingushetia.

In the development of animal husbandry, Ingush farmers rely on breeding animals. By the beginning of 2022, the republic plans to purchase 20 thousand heads of breeding sheep of various breeds in Dagestan.

It should be noted that at the expense of the funds of state enterprises in the republic not only replenish the number of livestock, but also restore abandoned livestock farms.

There are nine state unitary enterprises in Ingushetia, on the basis of which there are livestock breeding points, koshars, about half of them are idle. The head of the republic instructed the state unitary enterprises to invest their proceeds in the restoration of these facilities.

There are various state support programs for beginner farmers in Ingushetia. More than 100 farmers received grant support under the Agrostartup program for the development of peasant farms. The competition was serious - more than five farms for one grant, more than 550 farmers applied for support, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic reported earlier. The grant recipients will implement projects on beef and dairy cattle breeding, sheep breeding, poultry farming, beekeeping, as well as on the cultivation of fruit and berry crops, the production of grain, leguminous crops.

Grants for small family businesses will ensure self-employment of the rural population, increase the business activity of young people in the countryside and preserve the rural way of life.

The "Agrostartup" program for start-up entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture operates within the framework of the national project "Small and medium-sized businesses and support for individual entrepreneurial initiatives." This national project is designed for 2019-2024 and includes five federal projects: to improve the conditions for doing business, to expand the access of small and medium-sized businesses to financial resources, including concessional financing, to accelerate small and medium-sized businesses, to create a support system for farmers and development of rural cooperation, promotion of entrepreneurship.

To implement ambitious plans, highly specialized livestock specialists are trained on the basis of the agroengineering faculty of the Ingush State University.

The Department of Zootechnics conducts research work in a number of promising areas, including improving the genetic potential, increasing the productivity of cattle. A separate direction is the creation of a new type of dairy cattle based on the use of the Holstein breed. According to the press service of the university, graduates "have a command of the methods of breeding, feeding, keeping various types of animals and technologies for the production of livestock products, in the last courses they receive specialized training in beef, dairy cattle breeding and sheep breeding."
