Exports of animal products from the Novosibirsk region have already exceeded 2023 figures.

“Products of animal origin are also in great demand in third countries. Our river and lake products were also exportedfish , edible eggs , pork , poultry and a number of other products of animal origin. More than 10 thousand tons were shipped in 2023. And now in 2024 this figure is already approximately for the first quarter. That is, there is a large volume of growth,” Baev said, clarifying that since the beginning of 2024, 12 thousand tons of livestock products have been exported. 

He also added that 2023 for the Novosibirsk region was a record year for the EXPORT of grains and legumes - 1.2 million tons were sent abroad. “The region collects from 2.5 to 3.5 million tons of grains and legumes; about 1.8 million tons are needed for domestic consumption,” he said. 

In 2023, the Novosibirsk region exported grain to 12 countries, 54% of grain exports were sent to CHINA . According to the HEAD of the department, in order to meet the demand for Russian grain, it is important to expand the sown area and develop abandoned fields. 

Baev noted that fruits and vegetables are imported into the Novosibirsk region. Despite the growth in the production of fruits and vegetables, local farmers are not yet able to provide the region with these products. In 2023, 200 thousand tons of fruits, vegetables and root crops were imported to the Novosibirsk region, mainly from Uzbekistan.
