The results of the implementation of the federal project "Export of agricultural products" by the regions of the Siberian Federal District were discussed on June 18 at a meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, which was chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin
Last year, the subjects of the Siberian Federal District supplied food abroad for more than $1.5 billion, exceeding the plan by almost 40%.
The leader among the regions was the Krasnoyarsk Territory (+134.6%), which increased the figure by 134% compared to 2019.
Growth was also shown by Novosibirsk (+72%), Omsk (+34.9%) regions and Altai Territory (+18.5%).
The positive dynamics has continued this year as well - the total volume of exports has already reached $636 million, which is almost 53% of the planned figure. Sergey Levin noted that this is a good result, which exceeds the average Russian level.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the key task at present is to diversify exports and increase the supply of high value-added products.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia assists the regions in drawing up export plans, develops and improves state support tools, and also conducts systematic work to open foreign markets.
In 2020, despite the pandemic, access was received to 24 more countries for 38 types of agricultural products.
The network of agricultural attachés should become the most important element in the promotion of domestic goods in foreign markets. At present, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture has already sent the first representatives to the countries of Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, and in general, by the end of the year they will appear in 39 countries of the world.
The targets for the growth of agricultural production and agricultural exports have been exceeded. Last year, Russian agricultural exports exceeded imports for the first time.
Sergey Levin called on the regions to get more actively involved in the work to meet the targets until 2024.
