Spanish meat exports down in April

Spain exported less MEAT last month, according to official figures released by MAPA. While pork meat has already been on a downward trend for almost a year, due to lower demand from CHINA , beef and poultry exports have also declined.

In general, the volume of meat exported by Spain last month decreased by 27%. The largest decline was seen in beef (-38%), followed by pork (-29%) and poultry (-25%). At the same time, exports of goat and mutton meat from Spain increased by 21%. In total, from the beginning of the year (from January to April), meat exports from Spain to third countries reached 616,330 tons, which is 29% less than in the same period of the previous year.

China , followed by the Philippines, Japan, SOUTH KOREA and the UK, were the top destinations for Spanish meat exports last month.
