US broiler exports set record in 2022

U.S. exports of broilers hit record highs in volume and value in the first half of 2022, according to new trade data released by the US Overseas Agricultural Service.


Broiler exports in the first six months of 2022 were 1,890,807 metric tons, up 6.7% from the same period last year, with EXPORT value reaching $2.580 billion, up 21.3%.

The cumulative export of turkey from January to June this year was 98,014 metric tons, down 19.9% ​​from the same period a year earlier, and the export value reached $316.9 million, up 8.0%.

The total volume of exports of eggs (table eggs plus egg products in terms of eggs in shell) for the first half of this year decreased by 46.0 percent to 91.8 million dozen. The value of these exports fell by 19.9 percent to $123.6 million. As for egg products, exports in January-June 2022 amounted to 13,322 metric tons, down 27.4 percent from the same period last year, and the value of exports reached $63.4 million, an increase of 15.9 percent due to rising export prices.
