The analyses were carried out using high-performance liquid chromatography with mass-selective detection (HPLC-MS/MS), which made it possible to identify this prohibited substance. The samples were sent for testing for compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation TR CU 034/2013 "On the safety of MEAT and meat products".
According to this regulation, the content of ofloxacin in food products is unacceptable. Ofloxacin belongs to the quinolone antibiotics and is used to treat infectious diseases. Its presence in food products raises serious concerns, as it can contribute to antibiotic resistance and negatively affect the HEALTH of consumers.
