The Arab countries include 22 states, and the volume of Russian exports of agricultural products to these countries amounts to $6 in monetary terms, according to estimates by analysts of Rosselkhozbank. Russian exporters want to expand their presence in this market, and to already developed countries, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia , they are adding countries that still occupy a small share in exports, but have prospects for the rapid development of trade turnover, the report says.
Thus, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Libya and Sudan account for more than 80% of all agricultural exports that RUSSIA sends to this region. At the same time, Algeria is a market that began to grow relatively recently, and from 2022 to 2023 showed a 2.3-fold increase in purchases of domestic agricultural products. In addition to Algeria, the top emerging markets included Sudan, supplies to which increased by 2.45 times, Yemen, to which they supplied 10.5 times more agricultural products, and the UAE, where the increase was 2.75 times. Topping the list is a new market - Oman, where they have just begun to supply domestic products.
Experts note that expanding supplies to the markets of these countries will not cause problems for exporters, since they are similar to the markets of already developed Arab countries and have the same food needs. Currently, the region is in demand for the supply of cereals (they account for 72% of exports), fats and oils (19%), MEAT and meat by-products (4%), FLOUR and vegetables (1% each).
