Deputy General DIRECTOR for Marketing and Sales of Damate Daria Lashchenko commented on Russia’s success in increasing exports of turkey MEAT to CHINA . In a message to the Federal State Budgetary Institution Agroexport, the expert noted that China is the target market for most food exporters, taking into account both the volume of this market and the purchasing power of the population. RUSSIA was helped to gain a foothold in this market by high quality products.
The Damate group of companies was among the first to receive permission to EXPORT poultry meat to China in 2019 and began supplying turkey to this country. Initially, shipments were carried out from a turkey breeding complex in the Penza region , and from the end of 2023, deliveries began from the Rostov region. Over the past 6 months, about 5 thousand tons of meat products were exported to China, an indicator that increased by more than 80% compared to the same period last year. The growth occurred due to the opening of supplies from the Rostov region and the expansion of distribution channels.
“The Chinese market demonstrates a steadily growing demand for turkey meat , and an important prerequisite for the observed growth is the ability of Russian suppliers to reliably supply the market with high-quality products. Turkey is moving from an exotic food category to a consumer product category, represented in both the foodservice and retail channels. Of course, this trend inspires optimism regarding the further development of the market, not only in quantitative but also in qualitative terms. We definitely count on growth in sales volumes and on expanding the range of products exported to the country,” noted Daria Lashchenko.
