The economist said that the price will rise in the summer

Associate Professor of the Department of National Economics, EMIT RANEPA under the President of the Russian Federation, Ph.D. Vladimir Tregubov believes that the rise in prices this summer will be subtle, and told what goods will soon rise in price.

The expert explained that in practice, wholesale purchasing firms and retail chains raise prices not by the percentage of ruble devaluation, but higher. So they lay insurance for themselves in the event of a further depreciation of the ruble.

Tregubov predicts that prices for household appliances, electronics, computers, laptops will rise in summer. The rise in price can be up to 20%. The rise in prices for these goods is connected not only with the devaluation of the ruble. This is also affected by the increase in the cost of international maritime container transportation caused by the pandemic and the trade war between CHINA and the United States .

According to him, a rise in price up to 20% of bread and bakery products is also expected. Animal feed may rise in price within 15-20%, which, in turn, will cause an increase in prices for MEAT and meat products. Tea, coffee and cocoa may also rise in price by 15% due to the depreciation of the ruble.

The expert recalled that since the summer, mandatory labeling of dairy products has been introduced in RUSSIA. This will also lead to an increase in the cost of goods by at least 6%.

“And taking into account the purchase by manufacturers of special equipment and codes for marking, prices can rise by 25-30%,” Tregubov said.
