The first and so far the only specialized eco-farm in the Kostroma region "Goose Capital" has purchased 5,000 heads of pedigree young animals of the Linda breed.
The farm is located in the north-east of the Kostroma region - in the city of Kologriv. Beyond its line, civilization ends and the taiga begins. In 2015, in the Kologrivskaya floodplain nature reserve, where migratory birds fly to the Arctic after wintering, a personal subsidiary farm appeared, which, among other things, started growing goose.
The business was started by student friends led by the future entrepreneur Konstantin Kadurin, who moved from the capital to Kologriv after graduating from the university. In 2017, with grant support in the amount of 1.5 million rubles, they founded an eco-farm. In 2018, the buildings equipped on the territory of the ruined Rodina collective farm were settled with breeding birds.
Since then, the population has increased by 3.5 times. This year it is planned to raise 10,000 geese at the eco-farm. Antibiotics and growth stimulants are excluded from their diet. At the output, they receive products that strictly comply with the ECO standard, said the HEAD of the enterprise, Yegor Dostavalov.
The output is growing. If in the first three years the farm produced 21 tons of poultry for slaughter, then in January-March of this year, 5 tons of organic goose MEAT in live weight were obtained, and the total volume of products under the Gusinaya Stolitsa brand is planned to increase to 50 tons by the end of 2021 . The output of delicacy goose liver for three years amounted to 830 kilograms, including 300 kilograms last year, which is 2.3 times more than at the start - in 2018.
