Effective development of livestock breeding in the Arkhangelsk region: new achievements and technologies

One shining example of success in this field is Agropromyshlennaya Kompaniya LLC from the Nyandomsky District, which in 2025 reaffirmed its status as a breeding farm for Kholmogory cattle . Founded in 2005 on the basis of the Moshinsky and Voezersky agricultural production complexes, this farm has become a role model in the selection and breeding of high-yielding cattle. As of October 1, 2025, it housed 745 head of cattle, 400 of which were cows.

The company's specialists are actively engaged in selection based on key indicators such as milk yield, milk fat content, and protein content. The results are impressive: from 2021 to 2024 , most cows yielded between 5,500 and 8,000 kg or more. In 2024, the proportion of high-yielding animals was 82%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the chosen strategy.

Regional Governor Alexander Tsybulsky noted that confirmation of the breeding farm's status is a high indicator of the team's work quality. Regional Minister of Agriculture and Trade Irina Bazhanova added that this achievement is the result of work begun in 2015.

The introduction of modern technologies and the upgrading of forage harvesting and tillage equipment helps increase productivity and reduce feed costs, which is especially important in the context of rising prices. In 2025, approximately 53 million rubles have been allocated to support livestock breeding, underscoring the government's serious approach.

The region also allocated 2.6 million rubles for molecular genetic testing of young animals, which will identify animals with high genetic potential before breeding begins. This innovation will significantly improve the accuracy of the assessment and speed up the delivery of results.

Thus, the Arkhangelsk Region is demonstrating the active development of livestock breeding, utilizing modern technologies and approaches that contribute to increased productivity and improved product quality, creating a solid foundation for a sustainable agronomy sector in the future.
