
The company plans to invest C$192 million ( US $140 million ) in a 230,000-square-foot food processing and distribution facility. Hilton Foods will process beef , pork, lamb, and seafood and distribute them throughout Ontario, as well as hire 150 new employees.

"We pride ourselves on bringing innovation, quality, and efficiency to the food chain and, most importantly, providing Canadian families with products they can trust and enjoy every day."
A recent announcement said the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund will contribute $1.5 million Canadian dollars to the project.
“Hilton Foods’ decision to open its first North American manufacturing plant in Ontario is a testament to our government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment by lowering the cost of doing business, cutting red tape, and opening up new opportunities for Ontario companies,” said Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.
Hilton Foods previously announced a partnership with Walmart in 2023.CANADA to build a meat processing plant that will supply products to retailers across the country. On its website, Hilton Foods reports that it is working toward a full partnership with Walmart Canada in 2027.
Hilton Foods Group employs more than 7,000 people and operates 24 other food processing facilities serving 19 markets, including Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.
