Annual inflation in Russia on December 25 accelerated to 7.59% from 7.48% a week earlier

"For the week from December 19 to December 25, 2023, inflation in the consumer market was 0.28%, since the beginning of the year - 7.42%. In the food products segment, prices changed by 0.43%. For fruits and vegetables, the rate of price growth was 3 .02%, for food products excluding fruits and vegetables, price growth slowed to 0.14%. For non-food products, prices changed by 0.24% with the resumption of increases in prices for passenger cars (prices did not change a week earlier). In the service sector, inflation was 0. 41%: prices for domestic flights have resumed rising,” the survey notes.

On September 22, the Ministry of Economic Development published an updated forecast of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for the period 2024-2026. According to the document, the ministry raised the forecast for inflation in the Russian Federation in 2023 from 5.3% to 7.5%.
