Global Alternative Protein Market May Grow to $290 Billion by 2035

Analysts from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Blue Horizon, in a joint study Food for Thought: Protein Transformation, concluded that the global market for alternative protein by 2035 could grow 7.5 times to $290 billion and 97 million tons.

According to experts, the annual growth of total protein consumption in the world will be 3%. This year, this figure will be 872 million tons, compared to 587 million tons in 2020. That is, every tenth portion of "meat", "dairy" products or "eggs" will be made from alternative proteins.

Also, according to experts, if technological changes go faster, then the share of alternative protein could be twice as high. As a result, Europe and North America ( usa and CANADA) will reach the peak of "meat" in five years. The consumption of animal protein in these countries will actually begin to decline.
