Farmers produce not only the usual horse meat or beef stew, but also local yaks and red deer. 

The red deer is distributed in the mountain-taiga zone of the Republic of Buryatia. In summer, red deer can be found even in the area of ​​mountain alpine meadows. The border of two subspecies of the red deer runs along the Khamar-Daban mountain range: the red deer lives to the east, the larger deer lives to the west. The weight of an adult male can reach 200-260 kilograms, and the body length is 230 centimeters. Yaks or sarlyks in Buryatia are found in the Gornaya Oka. Most of the time they graze on high mountain pastures at altitudes of two thousand five hundred meters above sea level. In the Okinsky district, there are now more than four and a half thousand individuals.
