The Cherkessk facility also implemented a project to expand its canning line capacity to 2 million cans per month. This allowed it to increase canned turkey and lamb production by 3.5 times, reaching 2,700 tons.
Last year, construction of the second phase of a sheep fattening complex, capable of accommodating 50,000 animals at a time, was completed in the village of Udarny in the Prikubansky District of Karachay-Cherkessia, significantly increasing the plant's raw material supply.
Karachay-Cherkessia Governor Rashid Temrezov noted the importance of ensuring food security for the region and the entire country, emphasizing that support for the agricultural sector will continue. Russian President Vladimir Putin also emphasized the need to increase agricultural production by at least 25% by 2030 compared to 2021 levels.
The Damate project includes Russia's largest lamb processing plant, as well as breeding and fattening facilities, a service company for interaction with farmers, and a breeding and genetics center.
