Genesus targets 20% of the Ukrainian pig breeding market

On the basis of the pig-breeding complex "Agrarian Company 2004", the country's first nucleus of the GENESUS Corporation was created for the Large White breed.

According to a spokesman for Genesus Inc. in Ukraine by Yevgeny Shatokhin, until now this part of Eastern Europe has not been considered as a priority market due to its relatively small capacity. In addition, Ukrainian farms were not ready to import pedigree young animals by aircraft from CANADA. With the opening of Genesus cores in the UK, Spain, France and Germany, logistical problems were resolved.

In general, the expert assesses the Ukrainian pig breeding market as balanced, but sees a niche for development: the goal of Genesus is to fill 20% of its genetics with animals in the coming years.

"Agrarian Company 2004" has already received the status of a breeding reproducer. From November, she will sell Large White piglets and hybrid young. The next step will be organizing the supply of semen of breeding boars of the Duroc and Landrace breeds.

  • Current situation of China's pig industry
Over the past few months, China's pork industry has suffered significant financial losses similar to those in the United States. With approximately 12 million pigs shipped into China's domestic market each week, multiply that by lo...

  • Genesus, overview of world markets. France. July 2023
Thus, price stability is a compromise between low supply and difficulties in the MEAT sector to balance the new increase in prices for carcasses in slaughter weight in a sluggish market. In this context, most of the price trends observed in recent weeks have resumed. Since July 17 this year, the price on the French market for slaughter pigs has remained virtually unchanged, being at the level of €...
  • United States, July Cattle Inventory
it is obvious that during the last five years there has been a constant reduction in both the number of cattle and cows (about 7%). Despite the high prices for cattle , this is a direct reflection of the now almost permanent drought in some regions and the reduction in the number of pastures, in addition, all this is exacerbated by high feed prices. We believe that this year the trend has not chan...

Entering the second half of 2023, when trying to describe the pig market in CHINA, the phrase “no more joy in Mudville” comes to mind.
