In Kamchatka, the investigation of the criminal case of the general director of a commercial organization on the smuggling of more than 100 tons of Argentine beef into the Russian Federation has been completed, the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department on Transport of the TFR reports on Tuesday.

“He is accused under Part 1 of Art. 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal movement across the customs border of the Customs Union within the framework of the EurAsEC of strategically important resources, on a large scale),” the report says.

According to the investigation, in 2017-2018, the accused illegally imported into the territory of the Russian Federation from the Argentine Republic meat of cattle with a total weight of more than 100 tons in the amount of more than 30 million rubles.

“As a confirmation of the legality of the origin of this product, the defendant entered false information about the product and its real value into the customs declarations,” the ICR emphasizes.

The criminal activity of the merchant was stopped by customs officers.

The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the Frunzensky District Court of the city of Vladivostok

In turn, the press service of the Sakhalin Customs for the Kamchatka Territory notes that this is the general director of a large Kamchatka company supplying meat products. He transported fresh-frozen beef to the peninsula through the port of Vladivostok.
