The Philippines has lifted its ban on imports of Russian chicken.

This decision follows the Philippines' Department of Agriculture's recognition of Russia's regionalization system for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The National Poultry Union of the Philippines noted the high level of veterinary control in RUSSIA, which reduces HEALTH risks. Russian exporters are showing interest in the Philippine market, given the country's rapidly growing young population. In the first seven months of 2025, Russian poultry exports increased by 23% in quantity and 31% in value, reaching $530 million. CHINA is currently the primary importer, accounting for 43% of total exports.
