The Rostov region continues to lead in the EXPORT of agricultural products. This was discussed at a meeting on the implementation of targets in the agro-industrial complex in the Don government, the press service of the regional Cabinet reported.
“Last year, according to preliminary data, more than 20.8 million tons worth almost 6.8 billion US dollars were exported from the territory of the Rostov region , ” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Don Governor. - Of course, grains, as well as oilseeds and products of their processing remain the basis of the Don agro-export. But last year there was an increase in exports of processed MEAT and dairy products - by 4.4%, fish and seafood - by 3.6%, food and processing industry products - by 35%.
Thus, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region, the volume of exports of meat and dairy products amounted to 51.4 thousand tons in the amount of 65.3 million US dollars, fish and seafood - 28.3 thousand tons (in monetary terms in actual prices - 50.7 million usd), food and processing industry products - almost 309 thousand tons in the amount of 231 million USD.

At the meeting, it was noted that in the Rostov region, the implementation of investment projects aimed at increasing the throughput of terminal complexes in the ports of Azov and Taganrog continues. Thus, last year the construction of two grain terminals with a total capacity of 1.9 million tons per year was completed. One of these projects was implemented by the STEPPE agricultural holding (Gashunsky Breeding Plant JSC) in the port of Azov with an investment of 1.1 billion rubles. Also, the first phase of RMMP-Zerno LLC was built in the port of Rostov-on-Don, the volume of investments amounted to 1 billion rubles.
