Meat price dynamics in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: pork and beef are getting cheaper, chickens are getting more expensive

Analyzing the dynamics of prices for MEAT products in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug from January 2021 to January 2024 , it can be noted that beef on the bone is the most expensive meat. Every year, it rose in price by an average of 20 rubles per kilogram. The largest price increase was recorded from January 2022 to January 2023, when the cost of beef in the retail network increased by almost 100 rubles. At the beginning of January of this year, the average price of beef in Yamal was 592 rubles per kilogram.

Pork , in turn, rose in price less. On average, its price increased by 20-30 rubles annually, but at the beginning of this year it fell slightly. Chicken, unlike pork and beef, will steadily rise in price. From 2022 to 2023, poultry prices increased by an average of 50 rubles. Since the beginning of last year, meat has become 4 rubles more expensive and is currently sold at an average price of 312.35 rubles per kilogram.

Central Bank analysts believe that the constant rise in meat prices is due to the increase in costs of livestock farms and product processors. This leads to the fact that poultry meat , pelmeni, semi-smoked sausage , hot dogs and eggs are becoming more expensive faster than in the previous month.

Thus, in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, there is a different dynamics of meat prices: pork and beef are becoming more affordable, while chickens are becoming more expensive. This is caused by various factors, including producer costs. Consumers should be careful when choosing meat products and take these price changes into account.
