Deflation in Russia accelerated to 0.14% in a week

For the period from July 23 to August 1, 2022, the consumer price index decreased by 0.14%, Rosstat said in a statement. Relative to January of the current year, consumer prices increased by 11.6%.

During this time, prices for chicken eggs (-1.1%), table SALT (-0.9%), buckwheat (-0.8%), sausage and sunflower oil (-0.3%) decreased. Vegetables fell by 3.9% on average, including potatoes (-7.8%), beets (-7.1%), carrots (-6.1), etc.

Price growth was recorded for canned MEAT for baby food (+0.7%), lamb (+0.5%), chocolates (+0.4%) and other food products.

As for non-food products, prices for toothpaste (+0.6%), matches (+0.4%) and diapers (+0.3%) went up. Also, prices for edged boards and TVs increased by 1.1% and 1%, respectively. Gasoline and diesel remained at the same level.

In the group of monitored medicines, prices decreased: for rengalin - by 0.6%, metamizole sodium (domestic analgin) - by 0.3%, ergoferon - by 0.2%, combined analgesics - by 0.1%. Prices for allohol, validol, corvalol, nimesulide, multivitamins increased by 0.1%.
