Damate, the largest turkey producer in RUSSIA, is completing the installation of equipment at a new feed mill in the Kolyshleysky district of the Penza region, the company's press service reported. Putting the facility into operation will increase the capacity of fodder production by 70%: from 522 thousand tons to 886 thousand tons. The capacity of the enterprise will be 50 tons of feed per hour. The plant is located on the same site as the elevator, which the company bought in 2019. The project to modernize the elevator and build a new feed mill was launched in 2021, investments in the project amounted to 3.5 billion rubles.

As part of the project, a feed mill, elevator towers, grain dryers, granaries, warehouses for meal and container storage, bunkers for finished products and a set of infrastructure facilities have already been built. Installation of process equipment is 90% complete. Lines are being installed for receiving and cleaning raw materials, accepting big bags, heat treatment of grain, dosing and grinding mixtures, granulating, spraying and bulk dispensing of finished products.

“The installed equipment will make it possible to produce feed using whole grains and liquid components, such as vegetable oil, which will increase the nutritional value of the finished mixture,” said the Damate press service. The plant will also perform automatic granulation of compound feed and spraying of vitamin mixtures, and the function of heat treatment of loose feed will eliminate the appearance of harmful microorganisms in finished feed.

Damate already has five feed mills: four in the Penza region and one in the Rostov region. Earlier, "Damate" began to produce compound feed for sale in the Rostov region. Commercial compound feed will be produced at the facilities of the duck production complex in the Millerovsky district. At the first stage, the agricultural holding plans to sell up to 50 thousand tons of products per year with the possibility of further increase in volumes. Damate relies on complete feed self-sufficiency in all business areas. In 2021, feed availability reached an average of 96% across the group's three poultry enterprises.
