The livestock complex "Damate" is preparing for the spring sowing season of 2023 in the Tyumen region, the company said. Damate traditionally grows most of the feed for its dairy farms in its own crop production facilities. This year, the company is going to expand the list of crops and plant not only fodder crops, but also rapeseed for subsequent sale.
The company reported that the sowing campaign will begin in April and now the enterprises have already launched an active stage of preparation for it. Currently, the total land fund of Damate is about 13 thousand hectares, of which 12.2 hectares are planned to be allocated for alfalfa, corn for silage, annual grasses of oats and barley, wheat - crops from which feed will be produced for the company's livestock enterprises.
In addition to fodder crops, in 2023 Damate will sow fields with rapeseed for the first time. The company noted that 1.5 thousand hectares of leased land will be allocated for the experiment, the grown rapeseed will be sent for sale.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2022, 24.4 thousand hectares of land were allocated for rapeseed in the Tyumen region.
