The press center of the Damate group of companies reports that equipment complexes worth 10 million rubles have been installed in the chemical-technological laboratory of a feed mill in the Penza region to control the quality of raw materials and finished products.
The weight and well-being of the bird, the nutritional value of meat, the technical parameters and culinary properties of products made from it depend on the quality of turkey feed. To get a strong healthy stock, you need a scientifically based feeding system and compound feed with a balanced combination of nutrients.
The lack or excess of any components in the feed leads to undesirable physiological changes in the body of the bird and reduces the biological value of meat processing products. The production of compound feeds with an optimal protein content, a verified amino acid composition and precise proportions of vitamin supplements is the primary task of Russia's largest turkey holding.
Damate Feed Plant purchased analytical equipment from the world leader in laboratory instruments for high-precision research using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which ensures the rapid separation of complex mixtures. It is designed to perform all the necessary analyzes when determining the content of fat-soluble vitamins, water-soluble B vitamins and amino acids - both in the feedstock and in the finished feed.
In the laboratory of the Damate feed plant, two complexes for HPLC research are installed: an amino acid analyzer and a modular system for determining fat- and water-soluble vitamins in premixes and compound feeds. This combination makes it possible to comprehensively assess their quality.
Based on the results obtained, feed production specialists were able to correctly formulate compound feed for turkeys and exclude the possibility of supplying falsified raw materials at the stage of acceptance.
Counterfeits are difficult to detect when examining samples using traditional methods of laboratory analysis. Most often, it is found in high-protein raw materials: fish, meat and meat and bone meal, soybean and sunflower meal, cake, yeast and corn gluten. Sometimes fake contains inorganic compounds - amides or ammonium salts, which create the illusion of a high level of crude protein, which is taken into account when determining the energy value of the feed. Gross falsification is dangerous: it damages the health of the livestock and leads to economic losses.
Daniil Gubanov, Head of the Centralized Laboratory of the Damate Group of Companies, noted that in-house feed production is one of the undoubted advantages of a vertically integrated holding. Last year, in the turkey project, his total capacity of his four plants was approximately 886,000 tons. Laboratory quality control of mixed fodders with such volumes of production is of paramount importance.
Currently, there are 14 Damate laboratories in the Penza and Rostov regions. More than 1.5 thousand units of equipment are installed in them, which allows more than 550 different types of research to be carried out. In total, the capacity of Damate laboratories is designed to conduct more than 2.5 million analyzes, tests and studies per year. This volume is comparable to the scale of work of large federal testing centers.
