The holding was the first in Russia to introduce a management system at its enterprises that complies with the international Halal Management Assurance System, which ensures the export of products to almost all countries with a predominantly Muslim population.

Halal Management Assurance System was presented to Russian and foreign producers of livestock products at the XII International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2021". The system is based on the principle of independent control of all components and stages of food production: from the supply of raw materials and necessary components for feed and animal rearing to processing, packaging, storage and sale.

Since 2016, the enterprises of the Damate group of companies have successfully passed 14 audits of the International Halal Standardization and Certification Center and relevant departments of such influential states of the Islamic world as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

The Halal management system at the production facilities of the Damate group of companies has been formed since March 2020 with the involvement of experts, taking into account the requirements of regulators and using the practical experience of manufacturers from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Middle East.

Earlier this year, the first version of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) was reviewed and approved by representatives of the Saudi Arabian General Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). Now it is being adapted to the requirements of specific target markets.

Rashid Khairov, General Director of the Damate Group of Companies, explained that, starting to form the system, the holding initially set a strategic goal: to satisfy the need of Muslims living in Russia and other countries of the world for high-quality, safe and healthy food products that fully comply with the canons of Islam.

For 10 years, "Damata" managed to build a completely independent "halal" service, which included professionals with higher specialized and religious education. Groups specializing in the production of halal products have been created at the enterprises. Now they unite 20 qualified specialists.

Rashid Khairov stressed that the international recognition of the effectiveness of the Halal Management Assurance System at Damate's production facilities greatly simplifies the accreditation of a major exporter in the most influential foreign certification bodies and thereby contributes to the expansion of the supply chain.

The advantages of an internationally approved system are obvious. It serves as a guarantee of compliance with all requirements for halal products, because the inspectors act independently of the management of enterprises, but work closely with it - both at the corporate level and in all shifts.

In addition, the structure, content and documented guarantees of the Halal Management Assurance System - by analogy with other management systems (ISO 9001, 22000, BRC and HACCP) - are recognized by all states interested in importing halal products. Consequently, the additional burden on the enterprise associated with the need for constant supervision of third-party representatives during audits by accredited bodies of importing countries is eliminated.

Aidar Gazizov, General Director of the Halal International Center for Standardization and Certification under the Russian Mufti Council, confirmed the strict compliance of the entire Damate production process with the documented procedures of the Halal Management Assurance System. According to him, the introduction of the system maintains the competitiveness of a wide range of food products from turkey meat in the domestic and foreign markets.

The immediate plans of the Damate group of companies include audits for the right to export products to Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, a number of new markets in the countries of the Middle East and various regions of Africa, where a significant part of the population professes Islam.
