The farm is designed for 1800 animals at a time. All the main buildings and open areas under canopies have already been built. A maternity ward, an animal sorting area, a feed storage warehouse, a sanitary checkpoint for personnel and a disinfection barrier for vehicles have been prepared for operation. The foundation of the diesel power plant has been installed.
A full set of equipment has arrived that will ensure stable operation of the selection and genetic center and comfortable maintenance of breeding sheep. All stalls are equipped with group drinking bowls with heated water, hay feeders and concentrate feeders.
The Damate group of companies purchased an automatic manipulator-sorter for high-precision management of a herd of small ruminants from one of the world leaders. The SGC will introduce electronic accounting, identification and sorting of animals, management of traffic flows around the farm, determination of weight and other parameters of each sheep. The use of a manipulator implies high measurement accuracy, reduced labor costs and increased employee efficiency.
The operating principle of the manipulator can be briefly described as follows. The system determines and records the identification number of the animal that has entered using the tag and gives time to perform the necessary veterinary procedures. After their completion, the herd is sorted according to specified characteristics and distributed to the appropriate paddocks. Accounting information is sent to the monitor of the manipulator and to the phones or computers of farm specialists, who make changes to the feeding regime and living conditions of the animals. The entire process takes just seconds and causes virtually no disturbance to the sheep or the operator.
Construction of the SGC began in January. Its structure includes two farms for 3,000 ewes, an artificial insemination station, an embryological laboratory and a quarantine area for 300 animals. The amount of investment of the Damate group of companies in financial partnership with Rosselkhozbank amounted to 1.1 billion rubles. The center is designed to maintain and breed the best breeds of world sheep using the latest technologies.
