
The Damate Group of Companies and the government of the Altai Republic signed an agreement and a roadmap for the development of MEAT sheep genetics in the region. The signing ceremony took place on June 19 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The documents were signed by Andrey Turchak, HEAD of the Altai Republic and Chairman of the Government of the Altai Republic, and Naum Babayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damate Group of Companies.
The purpose of the agreement and the signed roadmap between Damate and the government of the Altai Republic is to combine efforts to develop meat sheep genetics and the industrial development of sheep farms. The document provides for the promotion of modern reproduction and embryo transfer methods, as well as consultations on feed production and veterinary medicine.
As part of the signed agreement, the parties intend to improve the genetic characteristics of meat sheep breeds, create and support research projects in sheep genetics, and implement new genetic technologies to increase the productivity and quality of meat products. The project envisages collaboration with sheep farms and the development of joint programs with veterinary services.
Damate already has experience in developing genetics for meat sheep farming. In the North Caucasus, the company is systematically working to improve sheep herds and create a breeding core of highly productive animals. it has also launched a sheep breeding and genetics center, where the world's best sheep breeds are maintained and bred.
