Food prices in Russia and their changes for the week, month, and year, as of July 29, 2024

Of the 43 food products analyzed in this article, prices increased for 23 products over the week, while prices decreased for 20 products. Over the month, prices increased for 30 products, while prices decreased for 13 products. Over the year, prices increased for 39 products, while prices decreased for four products.

According to AB-Center calculations, the price increase over the week mostly affected food products such as fresh white cabbage (+1.8%), butter (+0.5%), semi-smoked and cooked-smoked sausage (+0.5%), sunflower oil (+0.5%), and canned fruit and berry preserves for baby food (+0.4%).

There were also increases in prices for table salt (+0.4%), margarine (+0.3%), bread and bakery products made from various types of wheat flour (+0.3%), cooked sausage (+0.2%), polished rice (+0.2%), sour cream (+0.2%), sterilized milk (+0.2%), cookies (+0.2%), vodka (+0.1%), wheat flour (+0.1%), bread made from rye flour and from a mixture of rye and wheat flour (+0.1%), millet (+0.1%), pork on the bone (+0.1%), pasteurized milk (+0.1%), granulated sugar (+0.1%), sausages, frankfurters (+0.1%), vermicelli (+0.03%), beef on the bone (+0.01%).
