Food prices in Russia and their changes for the week and month, data as of May 13, 2024

AB-Center analyzed the dynamics of retail prices for 43 food products. During the week, prices strengthened for 32 goods, and prices weakened for 11 goods. Over the month, prices increased by 33 goods and decreased by 10 goods.

To a greater extent, the increase in prices over the week, according to AB-Center calculations, affected such food products as potatoes (+4.9%), onions (+4.3%), carrots (+3.9%), fresh white cabbage (+3.5%), table beets (+3.2%).

Prices also increased for apples (+1.3%), wheat flour (+0.5%), hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses (+0.4%), canned vegetables for baby food (+0.4%), bread and bakery products made from various types of wheat flour (+0.3%), chicken meat (+0.2%), bread made from rye flour and a mixture of rye and wheat flour (+0.2%), canned fruit and berries for baby food (+0.2%), bananas (+0.2%), black tea (+0.2%), beef on the bone (+0.2%), vodka (+0.2%) , vermicelli (+0.2%), lamb on the bone (+0.2%), pork on the bone (+0.2%), cookies (+0.1%), sterilized milk (+0.1%) , polished rice (+0.1%), semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausage (+0.1%), sour cream (+0.1%), margarine (+0.1%), butter (+0.1 %), table salt (+0.1%), boiled sausage (+0.04%), canned meat for baby food (+0.04%), pasteurized milk (+0.01%), dry milk formula for baby food (+0.01%).

As for the price decline, it affected millet (-0.02%), cottage cheese (-0.05%), sunflower oil (-0.1%), granulated sugar (-0.1%), whole frozen fish (-0.2%), pasta made from premium wheat flour (-0.2%), sausages, sausages (-0.2%), buckwheat kernels (-0.4%), chicken eggs (- 0.8%), fresh tomatoes (-3.1%), fresh cucumbers (-5.7%).
