The bankruptcy was initiated by Sberbank, which filed a lawsuit in October 2023 due to a debt obligationMEAT processing plant to the bank in the amount of 270 million rubles. This debt burden became critical, and the enterprise was unable to find a way to repay it. In addition, the parent company of the meat processing plant, TD Svinprom, filed two lawsuits against its subsidiary for the amounts of 316.7 and 19.7 million rubles, respectively, which further aggravates the financial situation of the Buturlinovsky meat processing plant.

Interestingly, in July 2023, the plant itself had already initiated bankruptcy proceedings, but the case was closed at the initiative of the plaintiff. This indicates that the management was trying to find alternative ways to solve financial problems, but, unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.

In connection with the introduction of the observation procedure, Anton Starodubtsev has been appointed as the bankruptcy trustee, who will have to study the financial state of the enterprise and find ways out of the crisis. However, the current circumstances make his task extremely difficult.

The bankruptcy of the Buturlinovsky Meat Processing Plant could have a negative impact not only on its employees, but also on the entire local economy. The plant is a significant employer in the region, and its liquidation could lead to mass layoffs, as well as a deterioration in the situation of local farms that supply raw materials for production. The situation highlights the importance of careful financial management and planning in business.
