UK meat production standards: higher than EU and global comparisons

Red Tractor, which received a high weighted average score, demonstrated excellence in many areas including traceability, food safety, animal health and welfare, and biosecurity. These report results demonstrate the rigorous scrutiny of farming standards and confirm the high level of quality of British beef and lamb.

Comparison with other international schemes such as Ireland's SBLAS, Germany's Quality System, Beter Leven from the Netherlands and Quality Meat Poland highlighted the benefits of Red Tractor. This analysis not only highlighted the superiority of British standards, but also provided insight into trends and best practice in agricultural production.

AHDB's lead red meat analyst, Tom Dracup, stressed the importance of reports like this to ensure transparency and maintain the high reputation of the UK meat sector. These results are not only important for consumers who seek high quality products, but also for the sector itself, which must constantly improve its standards.

British meat production standards continue to be at a high level, which confirms their importance not only in the domestic market, but also on a global scale. This demonstrates the commitment to quality and safety, which are key principles of the British agricultural sector.
