
According to ABPA forecasts, Brazil's egg production is expected to reach 62.25 billion units in 2025, up 7.9% from the 57.683 billion units recorded in 2024. Further growth is expected in 2026, when production will reach 66.5 billion units, up 6.8% from the previous year.
Exports from this sector are expected to reach 40,000 tonnes in 2025, representing a 116.6% increase from the 18,469 tonnes shipped in 2024. Further progress is expected in 2026, with exports reaching 45,000 tonnes, a 12.5% increase over that year's projected volume.
Per capita consumption is expected to increase from 269 units per inhabitant in 2024 to 287 units in 2025 (+6.7%) and 307 units in 2026 (+7% compared to the previous year).
As for chicken MEAT , its production in Brazil in 2025 is projected to be 15.320 million tons, up 2.2% from the 14.972 million tons produced in 2024. In 2026, it is expected to increase to 15.600 million tons, up 2% from the previous year.
Exports are expected to grow by 0.5% to 5.320 million tonnes in 2025 (up from 5.295 million tonnes in 2024) and 5.500 million tonnes in 2026, up 3.4% from the previous year.
In the domestic market, the volume of chicken meat supplies may reach 9.980 million tons in 2025, which is 3.1% more than 9.678 million tons in 2024. In 2026, the projected supply volume is 10.100 million tons, which is 1.2% more than the previous year.
As a result, per capita protein consumption is expected to increase from 45.5 kg per person in 2024 to 46.8 kg in 2025 (+2.8%), reaching 47.3 kg in 2026 (+1.2%).
National pork production is estimated to reach 5.55 million tons by 2025, a 4.6% increase from the 5.305 million tons recorded in 2024. Further growth is expected in 2026, with production estimated at 5.70 million tons, a 2.7% increase from the previous year.
Exports are also expected to continue to grow. In 2025, EXPORT volumes are forecast to reach 1.49 million tonnes, up 10% from the 1.353 million tonnes shipped in 2024. In 2026, this figure could reach 1.55 million tonnes, an increase of another 4%.
Domestic protein supply is expected to grow by 2.7% this year, reaching approximately 4.06 million tonnes in 2025, compared to 3.952 million tonnes in 2024. In 2026, growth is expected to be 2.2%, reaching 4.15 million tonnes. Per capita consumption is projected to grow by 2.3% this year, reaching 19 kilograms in 2025, compared to 18.6 kilograms in 2024. In 2026, per capita consumption is projected to increase by 2.5%, reaching 19.5 kilograms.
"After significant shocks throughout the year, the sector demonstrated resilience and ended the period with growth in all indicators of production, exports, and per capita consumption of chicken, pork, and eggs. Similar positive dynamics are projected for next year, provided adequate costs and sustainable demand for products in both domestic and international markets," analyzes ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
