Brazil: Increased egg supply could put pressure on prices in 2024

Cepea's research shows that egg prices may come under pressure in 2024 due to increased protein supply, in contrast to the scenario seen last year with sequential increases and record prices . The research center estimates that egg production in Brazil will increase by 3.1% compared to 2023, reaching 45 billion eggs, while consumption will grow less - by 1.5%. The large volume, in turn, will be facilitated by the growing purchasing power of poultry farmers in relation to basic inputs (corn and soybean meal).
