JBS, one of the largest food companies in the world, is building a feed mill in Seberi, in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul. The new plant is expected to create up to 110 direct jobs and the products will be supplied to pig producers in 36 nearby municipalities. Approximately 250 million reais are invested in the work, which will allow Seara and JBS to continue to contribute to the economic and social development of the state.

With increased feed supplies, producers will be able to double pig production by the end of 2023, making the region the state's top pig producer. Located on the same plot of land as the Seberi industrial plant, the new feed mill covers a total area of 63,000 square meters (m²) and will have the capacity to produce 50,000 tons of raw materials per month. The plant will supply products to more than 300 pork farmers.

JBS is banking on the potential of the Seberi region to expand pork production in Rio Grande do Sul. Currently, the company has more than 40 feed mills in the South, Southeast and Midwest of the country.

The construction of this new feed mill is part of a R$ 1.7 billion investment announced by JBS in April 2021 in Rio Grande do Sul. The contribution made during the period 2021-2023 includes the expansion and improvement of units in seven cities, including Sebury, the expansion of the production of natural protein and processed foods to meet the needs of external and domestic markets.
