Brazil: Egg exports end in 2023 with 168.1% growth

In terms of revenue, the growth recorded in 2023 is even greater, reaching 182% compared to 2022. A total of $ 63.2 million was received in 2023 , compared to $22.4 million the previous year.

In December, egg exports from Brazil amounted to 947 tons, which is 119.5% higher than in the same period in 2022 (431 tons).

These deliveries brought the sector's revenue for the month to US$2.5 million, up 93.3% from the US$1.3 million recorded in the previous year.

Japan was the largest international buyer of eggs produced in Brazil, with total sales of 10.3 thousand tons in 2023, up 848.5% from the previous year. Next come Taiwan with 5.3 thousand tons per year (no comparative data in 2022) and Chile with 2.8 thousand tons (+1302.3%).

“The significant increase in egg EXPORT volumes in 2023, supported by the biosecurity of national production in the absence of avian influenza in the country, has found its destination in countries with high sanitary criteria, underscoring the countries' confidence in the work being carried out by Brazilian companies and government authorities to maintain the HEALTH of the poultry sector . Today, egg exports represent 1% of Brazil's total production and provide important income for the sustainability of the production chain, especially in the face of rising costs," analyzes ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
