The process began in 2022 with technical meetings and audits of the Bolivian plants; in December 2024 , biosafety and Islamic compliance were verified, leading to HALAL certification.

Bolivia has an EXPORT quota of 44,000 tons (t) of beef, of which 28,600 have already been delivered to the international market, confirming the country's production potential.

Salas confirmed that with this authorization, Bolivia is strengthening its presence in the global food market, diversifying export destinations and strengthening the trust of strategic partners, guaranteeing sanitary quality and safety in accordance with international standards.

As of July this year, Bolivia exported US $92.7 million worth of beef . In 2024, domestic sales were US$189.3 million.
