More than a third of all meat consumed by Russians in 2023 was pork, and the trend towards strengthening its position will continue in 2024

The total increase in pork and poultry consumption ensured a 2% increase in consumption of all types of MEAT. According to the results of the past year, pork consumption exceeded 30 kg per person and exceeded 38% of total meat consumption. In total, over the past 8 years, annual per capita meat consumption has grown by 13% and reached 81 kg/person per year. At the same time, pork consumption alone has grown by almost 33%.

In the first half of 2024 , the total increase in pork, beef and poultry consumption will ensure growth in the entire meat industry by almost 3.4%. In the general basket of consumption growth, the increase in pork specifically will be 6%. The main reason is the same - the preservation of the price trend.
