Artem Daushev, assistant to the HEAD of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , at the plenary meeting "Russia-Saudi Arabia: Prospects for the Development of Mutual Trade in Agricultural Products", held yesterday, said that more than 40 domestic enterprises were certified for the right to supply products to the kingdom. The event was organized by Agroexport.

 This is one enterprise for the production of beef, four for finished MEAT products, three for dairy companies, 10 for poultry meat, 5 for bee products, and so on.

The expert stressed that the countries intend to expand the range of food supplies, agree on the necessary certificates, and increase the number of enterprises supplying products to both countries.

“Currently, Saudi enterprises have the right to EXPORT fish and sea products to RUSSIA, four enterprises were recently certified, they began deliveries last year and continued this year,” the head specified. - Russian livestock products are also exported in quite significant volumes, there has been a slight increase in the supply of poultry meat and a sharp increase in the supply of beef. We will continue to work on expanding mutual exports.

The representative of Saudi Arabia said that the kingdom is trying to establish an efficient supply chain for Russian products.

“We are trying to establish links with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Russian veterinary services,” the Saudi official said. - In 2020, we imported Russian products that met all the requirements by 98.8%. This is the result of effective cooperation between the parties involved in this process. One example of the development of trade is a significant increase in certified products from Russia, for example, meat products, eggs, honey. Their deliveries began in 2019, and in 2020 the volume of exports increased to 140 thousand tons and amounted to 27 million US dollars . 125% growth by 2020.

Nasser Alissa, deputy DIRECTOR of investment at the Saudi agricultural and livestock investment company SALIC, said that the company cooperates with 60 countries around the world.

- We see our task in ensuring food security and sustainable development of investment projects, - commented the expert. - As part of this strategy, we are focusing on commodities that are carefully selected, including cereals - wheat, soybeans, barley, corn, we also invest in rice and cattle meat. We have plans to increase investment in dairy products.

According to the head, SALIC recently received a mandate of authority to supply 350,000 tons of wheat. Potentially one of the exporters could be Russia .

- The company has stepped up its activities and is ready to invest in the products and goods of our partners from Russia, - said the Saudi expert. - This afternoon we will have a multi-stakeholder meeting here at SALIC to discuss joint partnerships and investment opportunities between the company and the Russian partners.
