Thanks to the launch of new capacities of the Kudryashovsky pig farm in the Novosibirsk region, the number of pigs has increased

At the end of 2021, the number of pigs in agricultural organizations and farms in the Novosibirsk Region increased significantly - their number increased by 30% and amounted to more than 424 thousand heads, the press service of the government reported. As clarified in the Ministry of Agriculture, pigs that are kept in private households of citizens are not included in these statistics.

The largest contribution to the increase in livestock was made by the Kudryashovsky pig farm, which commissioned new capacities in 2021. Recall that the capacity of the third stage is 160 thousand heads of marketable pigs per year, the production is designed for a one-time maintenance of 2900 sows. After the launch of the third stage, the capacity of the pig complex as a whole will amount to 410-420 thousand pigs of a one-time keeping per year, or 95-100 thousand tons of MEAT.

“The situation with restrictions in 2020-2021 confirmed that our region has reached a high level of self-sufficiency in agricultural products. All the main types of food products are produced in sufficient volumes in the Novosibirsk Region, and the region is ready to supply surplus products to other regions and for EXPORT,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, Minister of Agriculture Yevgeny Leshchenko.
