The authorities of the Belgorod region have prepared a risk map for a number of areas in the region's agriculture for the next year. According to the press service of the Kremlin, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, spoke about this at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

He explained that this measure should help improve the agricultural and food security of the country. Important issues that the Governor called for attention were genetics and breeding (both crop and livestock), as well as a lack of vitamins for animals and problems with the supply of software. The HEAD of the region specified that a separate such “map” would be created for each of the risks.

Gladkov also backed up the region's contribution to the country's food security with figures. He recalled that the region produces more than eight percent of SUGAR, 14 percent of poultry MEAT, 15 percent of compound feed, and 20 percent of pork in the country. At the same time, the region leads the country in terms of agricultural production per capita or per hectare of arable land and ranks third in terms of total volume. He also spoke about the results of grain harvesting. In total, according to him, one million tons of grains and legumes were harvested this year, and at least 3.5 million tons are planned (200,000 tons more than a year earlier). The yield increased from 43 last year to 55 centners per hectare. In addition, the governor thanked the Ministry of Agriculture for the assistance provided. He reminded that thanks to lending to agricultural enterprises, it was possible to carry out spring field work without problems even in the face of problems with the supply of seeds, feed additives and vitamins. With the autumn work, according to him, no problems are expected.
