According to the latest data, this region has become the leader in livestock production volumes in agricultural organizations in RUSSIA. In January of this year, the Belgorod Region produced an impressive amount - 156.3 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight. This allowed the region to increase its production capacity by 12.6% compared to last year.
In addition to the Belgorod Region, the Top 5 livestock production ratings included regions of the Central Federal District, most of which are located in the Black Earth Region. Kursk Region came in second with a production volume of 58 thousand tons. Local producers increased meat production by 2.1% over the year. Bryansk Region took third place with a volume of 50.8 thousand tons, which means a decrease of 2.1%. Tambov Oblast and Voronezh Oblast took the fourth and fifth places respectively, with production volumes of 49.2 thousand tons and 45.8 thousand tons.
However, in addition to the Black Earth Region, other regions are also showing their activity in meat production. Lipetsk Oblast, which took the eleventh place in the ranking, increased production by 3.9% and produced 29.5 thousand tons of cattle and poultry in the first month of the year. They shared this place with Krasnodar Krai. Some other regions, such as Stavropol Krai , Penza Oblast, the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Mari El and Leningrad Oblast, also showed good results in meat production.
These achievements of Belgorod Oblast and other regions are an important factor in the development of agriculture in Russia.
