Belarus is a major buyer of Russian pork: dynamics and structure of supplies

According to the Agroexport report, in the period from January to November 2023, RUSSIA exported 83 thousand tons of pork to Belarus , which is 15% more than in the same period in 2022. At the same time, EXPORT revenue increased by 4%.

The main share of supplies was fresh and chilled pork (59%). Also exported to Belarusfrozen pig MEAT (25%) and offal (16%).

The increase in purchases of Russian pork by Belarus is due to several factors. Firstly, this is an increase in demand for pork on the Belarusian market. Secondly, attractive prices for Russian pork, which are lower than those of other suppliers. Thirdly, the high quality of Russian pork, which meets international standards.

In addition to Belarus, the leading importers of Russian pork in 2023 were Vietnam , Serbia, Mongolia and Hong Kong. The total export of pork from Russia to all countries of the world exceeded 270 thousand tons, which is a record figure for recent years.

In 2024 , further growth in Russian pork exports is predicted. According to preliminary estimates by the National Union of Pig Breeders, it could be 250-300 thousand tons. This will contribute to the further development of the pig farming industry in Russia and strengthening the country’s position in the global pork market.
