Belarus supplies agricultural products to 35 countries of the world - Rusy

Belarus supplies agricultural products to 35 countries of the world. This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture Mikhail Rusy.
Most Belarusian products are sold to RUSSIA. This market is more attractive for us in terms of the price factor. "It would be funny if the Belarusians sold their products to other markets at a low price and ignored the more advantageous offers of their neighbors," the minister said.
According to him, now Belarus supplies agricultural products to 35 countries of the world and is moving very seriously into new markets. For example, Belarus sells more whole MILK powder to Venezuela than to Russia. In the near future, it is planned to start deliveries of butter and other products. We have serious cooperation agreements with Algeria, Vietnam, we are starting to work with Indonesia, and Japan is also interested in our products. Work is actively carried out with the post-Soviet countries on the whole range of agricultural products. For example, Belarus has seriously advanced in the market of Kazakhstan.
“There is no need to be afraid of any restrictive sanctions. After all, when normal relations are built between partners, then there is always a consensus. Today we are pursuing a policy of uniting the main exporters into holdings in order to trade in the markets with a smaller number and not dump prices. Until May 1 in each region MEAT and dairy holdings will be created, that is, there will be 6-7 main players in the market, and not 160, as today," the minister said.
He also informed that quite large contracts for the supply of dairy products to the Russian Federation have been concluded for this year. At the same time, we are working with our Russian colleagues on the system of balances. The balance of the country is drawn up for the year: the volume of milk or meat that is produced, the volume that is consumed within our countries, the surplus is sold, and if something is missing, it is imported from outside. This year it is planned to supply 3.8 million tons of products to Russia in terms of milk and dairy products. Starting next year, it is planned to switch to the balance sheets of the Customs Union - Kazakhstan will also be added here.
“We have also decided within the Customs Union: the amount of pork that is lacking on the market will be imported at a zero import rate, and a customs duty will be imposed on everything else. This is done in order to load and protect our producer. These are sensible steps which have already been made on the territory of our Customs Union," said Mikhail Rusy.
