Belarus hopes to be granted the right to EXPORT dairy products to the EU market this year, Tamara Usacheva, deputy HEAD of the main department for foreign economic activity of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, told reporters. "We very much hope that it will be already this year," she said.

T.Usacheva recalled that Belarus had already passed the stage of submitting all the necessary documents, an inspection of three enterprises was carried out - Savushkin Product, Berezovsky Cheese-Making Plant and the ice cream production unit of the Santa Bremor joint venture. "We are now at the final stage, waiting for the decision of the European Parliament to grant us the right to enter the European market," T. Usacheva specified.

The deputy head of the main department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food also specified that Belarus had asked the Ministry of Agriculture of Poland and Latvia to support Belarus when the European Parliament made a decision on the supply of Belarusian products to the EU market.

T. Usacheva noted that, based on the inspection of individual enterprises, a conclusion is being made on granting the right to export dairy products for the whole country as a whole. "Then our veterinary service will decide which of the enterprises meets (the requirements of the EU - IF), and who will be given the right to export products," she added.
