According to the agency, in quantitative terms, the growth of imports amounted to 1,220 tons (6%), and in value terms - $ 6.522 million (19.2%) compared with January-June 2022.
The share of MEAT in the total import of Azerbaijan in the specified period amounted to 0.49%.
In the first half of 2023, Azerbaijan became the leader in importing a number of livestock products from RUSSIA.
During the reporting period, the Russian Federation exported 174.4 thousand heads of agricultural livestock, according to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of the Russian Federation ( ROSSELKHOZNADZOR ).
Thus, 80.6 thousand heads of small ruminants were delivered abroad, which is two times more than in the same period in 2022 (39.9 thousand heads). Azerbaijan became the main buyer, which increased purchases by five times - up to 53.9 thousand heads of small ruminants.
Russia began supplying small ruminants to foreign markets in 2019. Azerbaijan became the first major buyer. In 2022, the number of countries importing these products has grown to five (Jordan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan , Georgia and Lebanon).
Russian EXPORT of cattlein January-June 2023 amounted to 13.6 thousand heads, which is comparable to the same period last year. Azerbaijan also became its main buyer (59% of the total volume). 24% of all deliveries were made to Kazakhstan .
