Azerbaijan supplies chicken eggs to Russia and brings back Russian potatoes

On January 25, telephone conversations took place between the HEAD of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Sergei Dankvert and the head of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan Goshgar Takhmazli. 

The parties noted the effective results of cooperation following the visit of Sergei Dankvert to Azerbaijan in November 2023. 

Then, as part of the negotiations, a decision was made to open the Russian market for the import of edible eggs from Azerbaijan.

Sergey Dankvert expressed gratitude to Goshgar Tahmazli for increasing the supply of food eggs to RUSSIA, noting that as of January 25, 2024 , 4.2 million pieces of food eggs were imported from Azerbaijan to Russia.

Economic relations between the two countries continue to develop progressively. Russia and Azerbaijan see great prospects for further growth in trade turnover in agricultural products in general.

Azerbaijan remains a reliable partner and leading exporter of vegetables and fruits to Russia. Russia, in turn, supplies potatoes , while Sergei Dankvert assured of strengthening control over the EXPORT of products to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Technical specialists will provide consultations in the near future to ensure uninterrupted supply.

In conclusion, the parties thanked each other for the productive work and agreed to maintain a high level and trusting nature of cooperation between the departments, which will make it possible to constructively resolve bilateral trade issues.
