Argentina opens Chilean market to animal by-products

The Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) notified the National Service for Quality and Health of Agricultural Products (SENASA) of its acceptance of the International Veterinary Certificate (IVC), agreed upon by both agencies, for the import of viscera and edible offal from cattle , sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, and horses from Argentina for human consumption. The measure has entered into force.

This is the result of three months of negotiations between the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy, SENASA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, during which a technical exchange took place until an agreement was reached on the requirements that must accompany the deliveries.

Chile thus joins 58 other markets opened by Argentina to which it supplies this type of product.

To date in 2025, SENASA has certified the export of   over 149,000 tonnes of animal offal and by-products for human consumption to various countries, the main ones being:   Russia , Ghana, Hong Kong, Peru and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
