Argentina has mastered its quota for the supply of beef to the EU and the UK

Hilton's 2022/23 quota has been fully utilized, with sales of 29,500 tons generating US$310 million in foreign exchange revenue, according to the Department of Agriculture .

The agricultural portfolio showed that this is the highest match in the last five years. In the case of the previous cycle, there was a balance of 1,288 tons that could not be sold.

The average cost of high-quality boneless cuts, which form the basis of exports, ranges from 10,000 to 13,500 US dollars, depending on the species. The main destinations for shipments were Germany and the Netherlands, followed by Italy and Spain.

Beef sales within the 2022/223 quota were as follows:

* Germany: 15,770.6 tons worth US$168.8 million.

* Netherlands: 9,067 tons worth US$93.9 million.

* Italy: 3,173 tons worth US$33.7 million.

* Spain: 829.1 tons worth US$8.3 million.

* The rest of the assigned tonnage is shared between Portugal, Greece, France, Austria, Poland, Slovenia and the UK.

With a tariff preference of 20%, Argentina owns 44% of the quota granted by the European Union, while the other beneficiary countries are the usa and CANADA (17%), Brazil (15%), Australia (11%), Uruguay (10% ), New Zealand (2%) and Paraguay (1%).
